Job Summary:
The BAYCOM IS Technician is responsible for installation, configuration, and support for a wide range of computer and network based products for public safety and commercial customers. BAYCOM provides paid product specific training for all the products we support. Some of the products we support include;
  • Airbus DS Communications VESTA
  • Emergency Callworks
  • Panasonic Toughbook and Arbitrator in-car, interview room and body worn video
  • IndigoVision IP Video
  • Cambium PTP and PMP
  • 3M Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR)
  • Zebra WLAN

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in system design and sales support
  • Execute projects in accordance to statement of work provided for the project
  • Inventory and stage equipment prior to installation
  • Configure equipment and insure it is installed properly
  • Work with customers to ensure we meet or exceed their expectations for all performed work
  • Perform diagnostics and maintenance when required on mission critical systems and services
  • Troubleshoot and replace equipment as required
  • Respond to service calls on and off normal hours (On call work required)
  • Keep current on products assigned to ensure current best practices are used
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Requirements:
  • Customer service skills
  • Experience pulling cable and installing equipment in residential or commercial buildings, BICSI Certification preferred
  • Advanced computer skills, CompTIA A+ Certification preferred
  • Basic understanding of computer networks (TCP/IP), CompTIA Network+ preferred
  • Independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Working a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and occasional travel as needed to support the business
  • Ability to work in a team and alone
  • Strong troubleshoot skills and methodology
